This five-day walk through the western Tararua was scheduled for last February but was flagged because of a rain warning. We hope for better luck this time. The route is to Mangahao Flats and Te Matawai huts, down the Otaki River to Waitewaewae Hut, on to Parawai Hut at Otaki Forks and finally over the Pukeatua Track to meet the Wednesday Wanderers.
