Events have conspired against Shane in the past but he says he’ll try again to do the circuit taking in Shutes, Dianes and Ruahine huts in a five-day adventure in the northern end of the Ruahine Range. River levels are a vital factor as the party must cross the Taruarau River on day one and then again on day five. Plan B is to tackle this challenging tramp the following week, Thurs to Monday 25-29 April.
